UK Dependant Visas

Bring your partner and children to live with you while you work or study in the UK.

If you hold an eligible UK visa, such as the Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker Visa, your close family can usually apply to join you as dependants.

Who can apply

  • Your spouse, civil partner or unmarried partner.
  • Your children under 18.

Requirements

Each dependant applies separately and pays their own fees. You'll generally need to evidence your relationship and, in some cases, show you can support your family. Dependant partners can usually work and study in the UK.

Settlement

Time spent as a dependant can count towards settlement, letting your family apply for indefinite leave to remain in due course.
